On Tuesday, the 24th of June, for the second day running, the Foreign Secretary David

Lamy, faced questions about the UK support for the US military strikes on Iran.

What does the Foreign Secretary think about Donald Trump's decision to launch air strikes

on three Iranian nuclear sites at the weekend?

On Monday, over the course of 90 minutes at the dispatch box,

David Lamy avoided passing any sort of verdict on the action.

A quirk of the parliamentary calendar meant he was back in the Commons yesterday

for his regular question and answer session with MPs.

The Conservative Shadow Foreign Secretary Dame Priddy Patel picked up where several of her colleagues had left off.

Given the clear threat Iran poses to the United Kingdom, our allies and to the

Middle East, does the Foreign Secretary support the actions undertaken by the United States

to down, degrade Iran's nuclear weapons? And he will also have heard that President Trump

has said that Iran's nuclear capabilities are gone. Does he welcome this?

Rutter congratulated Donald Trump for what he called his truly extraordinary action in Iran,

although he might have preferred if that communication had stayed private. David Lamy has

repeatedly said Iran must not be allowed to have nuclear weapons,

but he refused to be drawn further.

It was important to be alongside Secretary of State, Rubio, last week in D.C. We continue to work closely with President Trump,

and the Prime Minister spoke to him just two days ago.
