On Wednesday the 4th of February, Labour MPs sat stony-faced and silent

as the Prime Minister faced questions about what he knew of Peter Mandelson's relationship with Geoffrey Epstein.

The Prime Minister didn't call him Lord or Peter.

Instead, in a furious tone, he spat out the name of the man

who had once been his ambassador to the United States

and a central figure in the New Labour Project.

Mandelson betrayed our country, our parliament and my party.

Mr Speaker, he lied repeatedly to my team when asked about his relationship with Epstein

before and during his tenure as ambassador.

I regret appointing him.

If I knew then, what I know now, he would never have been anywhere near government.

Following the latest allegations that when Peter Mandelson was Trade Secretary in 2009,

he'd leaked sensitive financial information to Geoffrey Epstein,

Sarkir Stama said he had taken action.

He'd moved to strip him of his peerage and his role on the Privy Council that advises

the King. But the Conservative leader Kemi Badock said the decision to appoint Peter Mandelson

as Washington Ambassador in the first place went to the heart of the Prime Minister's

judgment. Can the Prime Minister's judgment.

Can the Prime Minister tell us, did the official security vetting he received mention Mandelson's ongoing relationship with the paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein?
