We'd rather get the solutions to the problems that we're dealing with currently than going

0:04.5

back and talking about the, spending three months talking about trauma that we experienced in the

0:08.4

past. And I think there's a, there's a disconnect because like on our end, on their end, one,

0:15.9

it is important for them to get an understanding of what happened in childhoods that I think

0:20.1

it help you build the solutions for right now. But at the same time, like, if I'm dealing with something that's bothering me right now, like I'm dealing with it week to week, I don't got time to be sitting here talking about like what happened. I want to answer for the problem that I'm dealing with right now. Then maybe we can get back to that. So I feel like there needs to be

0:37.7

some type of shift because that's where brothers like you that go into therapy that are like, yo, listen, I got a lot of stuff going on. I'm an entrepreneur. I got a bunch of stuff happening. I don't got time to be spending three months talking about my childhood. I feel like that's where it disconnected is. So the reason why I mentioned the modalities is because there's different modalities that could potentially work for you. So there's a different modality called solution focus

0:58.5

brief therapy, SFBT. And that therapy is literally solution focused. So you come in and you're like,

1:04.9

you're like, this is the problem that I have. And their like their job is like work you through

1:10.5

solutions to kind of help you with those help you with those problems. And there's black therapists that practice that, too, bro. So, like, if you want to talk off offline, I got a, I got a, um, I got a therapist that I interviewed that actually he trains like solution focus brief therapist as well. So that, so that might be helpful for you bro because that sounds

1:27.8

i'm pretty sure i'm pretty sure it will be the lane that you want to be in a whole lot of problems

1:31.4

you know i need solutions yeah yeah yeah i feel me so um yeah no that'll be don't go yeah i feel you

1:37.8

so has poetry and you talked about poetry helping you you feel like it's has helped you here

1:42.6

and if so how poetry has put me in a space to look

1:48.3

myself in the mirror and really ask myself, do I want to become the actual mind that I'm

1:53.8

talking about? Okay. Or am I the mind that I'm talking about? Okay. So I'm sorry. I feel like,

1:59.9

I feel like everybody has layers.

2:01.5

I feel like I got so many layers.

2:03.4

I tell a lot of women, like, when they come to my poetry, lately I've been, like, real big

2:08.1

on intimacy, right?

2:09.9

And I'm talking about the things leading up to the actual physical rather than talking

2:14.1

about the physical.

2:15.1

Because those things that lead up to the physical, those things are important.
