McKeeley started her tri-career in 1990 and won two.

ITU Triathlon World Championships in 1992 and 1993.

She won the XTERA Trathlon World Championships in 1996

and won an Olympic silver medal in the Sydney Olympic Games.

She became an Iron Man world champion in just her fourth ever full distance Iron Man in 2006.

And then she won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics as a guide for Katie Kelly when Paratrathlon made its debut in the Paralympics.
