For years now Survivor Series has been raw versus Smackdown.

That has been the gimmick that WWE has gone with for this pay-per-view for a very long

time.

It was a tired concept that lost its appeal a very long time ago.

The idea that Survivor Series was the one night of year that you get to see the stars

from Monday Night Raw wrestling the stars from Friday Night Smackdown.

It was so laughable.

I almost admired the balls on them to constantly lie to their audience every year and pedal

the bullshit that it was somehow the one night of year where it would feel special to see

Raw versus Smackdown because you and I both know that that's horseshit.

We get it all the time.

It rendered the whole appeal of Brand Warfare at Survivor Series Moot a very long time ago.

Survivor Series no longer felt special.

This is WWE's second oldest event, second oldest major event, second only to WrestleMania,

the very first Survivor Series all the way back to 1987.

And no longer did it feel worthy of its status as one of the big four annual events.

Money in the bank had really taken its place.

For the most part, Money in the Bank became one of the big annual shows, more so than

Survivor Series.

And it never should have been that way.

Twenty years ago, Triple H wanted to bring War Games to Survivor Series.

And Vince McMahon said no.
