Hello everyone. Welcome to Slash Film Weekly. It's Wednesday, February 28th, 2026. On today's episode of the show, we're going to be talking about the latest film and TV news. We'll have a discussion about Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights. We'll talk about the new heist movie Crime 101, and we'll also talk about good luck, have fun, don't die, and play an interview with director Gore Verbensky. My name is Ben Pearson. I'm an editor at slashfilm.com.

0:23.5

And let's jump right into the news.

0:26.4

Unfortunately, we need to start off with a bit of sad news,

0:29.5

which is that Robert Duvall, the legendary actor,

0:31.4

has died at the age of 95.

0:32.9

I mean, I guess that part's not sad.

0:34.5

He lived a tremendous life.

0:38.1

And he was an indelible part of the movies.

0:40.4

His filmography is legendary.

0:46.1

I mean, to kill a mockingbird, true grit, the godfather, the conversation, Godfather Part 2, Network, Apocalypse Now, the Great Santini, the natural, Days of Thunder,

0:52.0

newsies, gone in 60 seconds, open range. I mean, just an incredible

0:55.5

list of movies there and range of performances there. And he was an amazing actor. And like I said,

1:02.5

just kind of like part of the fabric of what I thought the movies were growing up. So I'm really

1:08.1

going to miss seeing him on screen. My recommendation would be to dive into a Western mini-series he did in the late 80s, alongside

1:16.1

Tommy Lee Jones, Danny Glover, and Diane Lane called Lonesome Dove, which is an adaptation

1:22.3

of the Larry McMurtry novel.

1:25.0

Really great stuff there.

1:26.0

I love that series, so I'm guessing a lot of people

1:28.4

listening to this have not seen it. And I would highly recommend it. It's very much worth your time.

1:32.6

And it has a great, great, great Robert Tupall performance in it. So rest in peace to a legend there.

1:39.5

There's no real great way to transition out of that. So let's go to maybe the silliest news story that came out over the past several days,

1:46.8

which is that David Leach, the director behind movies like The Fall Guy and Atomic Blonde,
