You're never going to just get good as the kids say or reach some level of

adeptness after which everything just flows.

It doesn't happen.

Yes, there is, of course, skill acquisition.

Yes, there is a fluency you develop.

And of course, that makes you a little bit more of a well-equipped explorer

of the proverbial dark forest.

You become a little bit more able to navigate the unexpected in your given

discipline because you've gained a bit more grit and self confidence.

But you never in my experience or the experience of anyone else I've

talked to on this show really fully know what you're even doing.

You don't command your creativity.

You surf it at best.
