Are they a good friend if they create rules around your friendship?

What kind of rules are we talking about here, Abby?

I'm talking about rules around what you can and can't do to maintain your friendship.

Now, this is all coming from a book that I read over the break.

I have a pretty long drive from our city to my hometown,

but it's like the perfect length for me to listen to a romcom on audible.

So if I'm like start to finish, I can get it done,

have a full book knocked out to sound like I've actually read something

while I was away, but really it was like listening to a podcast.

And I was listening to this book and every now

and then and when I say every now and then pretty much every time I pick up a

book I find myself getting like very critical about like the plot points and

things that just don't matter

and I was listening to this book and getting kind of fired up because I couldn't

imagine any of my friends giving me rules surrounding what we're not allowed to do in our friendship

and just being okay with that and letting that set but of course every

character is different everyone has their own motivations so I was reading
