| 0:50.7 | Now, the first thing to know is that all worms are not created equal. |
| 0:55.0 | When you're talking about vermy composting, you need red wiggler or red earthworms. |
| 1:02.0 | Now the reason why you need them is because they are the ones that are going to be the best suited to living in a vermy composting environment. |
| 1:10.0 | They're going to be the ones that will eat your garbage and cast, also known as poop it out into |
| 1:16.3 | worm castings, which is why we're doing this in the first place. We want those beneficial worm |
| 1:20.7 | castings. They are full of micronutrients, |
| 1:23.7 | macro-nutrients, beneficial bacteria, etc. And so the reason you would do |
| 1:29.3 | this is there's sort of two reasons. |
| 1:32.5 | There's one is the selfish gardening reason and that is to get a lot of fertility into your |
| 1:36.5 | soil and then there's a higher reason because worms will reduce quite a bit of the |
| 1:41.8 | waste streams coming out of your home. |
