And my life as a writer, I ran across this young lady.

I actually spent a couple of weeks in Vegas for the first time.

It was hot as hell.

But one of the joys of that was spending time with a little eight-year-old

named Hidea Brabent, born with HIV, undiagnosed, born with HIV, which turned into AIDS.

She was adopted in 1987. She was born in 1984. And this little girl was such a source of resilience

and power and strength. I can't imagine living a life that basically

was a death sentence, but she lived it fully, but she was also very vulnerable. And when I got this

radio show on Sirius XM, I had the opportunity to have her in the studio to talk about her journey.

And so this was our interview with Hidea Broadbent, who may transition 20th of 2024 to age of 39, did not make it to 40, but was fighting the whole time. I love her and I miss her. Stay tuned. I have a special guest in the studio live and I'm very excited because I haven't seen her. And we just discovered maybe it was 15 years. It's been 15, 20. It's

been a lot. I don't even want to say how many years has been because that makes you extremely old now.

But I want to welcome today is National Women's and Girls HIV Awareness Day and I couldn't find

anyone more involved and entrenched in this area than this woman.

and I've been following you, you know, not your whole life. But the first time I, the first and only time I've ever been in Las Vegas was because of you. And I tell the story, had the best time in my life, even though we never ended up doing the project that I was there to do. But you, you were like 12, 10 or 12, 12,

I think you were 12 years old. And we were supposed to do a book together and it didn't happen.

But I've always admired you. I was telling you how strong. Tell the audience a little bit about

birth mother was an Ivy drug user who infected herself and passed it on through me

at birth I was taken away because I was born crack addicted so of course you
