Next, we launched out on a course of vigorous action, the first step of which is a personal

house cleaning, which many of us had never attempted.

Though our decision was a vital and crucial

step, it could have little permanent effect unless at once followed by a strenuous effort to face

and to be rid of the things in ourselves which had been blocking us. Our liquor was but a symptom,

so we had to get down to causes and conditions.

So our third step decision, okay, to turn your will and life over to God.

I think in the beginning it's not unreasonable to look at this as,

I'll make a decision to be helpful if you don't believe in God.

And if you can make it as easy as possible, I'd suggest I saw it through the experience.

But when I look back on it, I could see that literally that's what was happening as I was doing some of the things that I was doing. You know, what Rick is talking about here is that there is no excuse to not do this. Yeah. That can be an excuse. Well, I don't believe in God. That can be an excuse to not want to do this step. There no excuse to not do this this is it alcoholics
