Good morning and welcome to the Independent Republic of Mike Graham right here on Talk Radio.

It's the beginning of yet another COVID cycle this morning

as many people wake up to half-term holidays, new lockdown restrictions and more power struggles

as regions across Britain during the course of this show. We expect to get news from Manchester

that Andy Burnham has caved into government demands for a tier three lockdown after being promised

millions in support for businesses, although of course he says

he's not just going to roll over for a check. Well, how long does he continue to think this is a good

idea? And how long before he decides that actually the health and welfare of the people of Manchester

perhaps is more important than his own petty squabbling with the Prime Minister? There might also

be an announcement in Wales of a so-called circuit-breaker lockdown that

would affect the entire country.

We'll be talking to one MP who was signed a letter to Burnham and Sir Kirstarmer,

urging them to step away from calls for a nationwide lockdown.

That man is Bill Wiggins, Conservative MP for North Herefordshire.

But with school holiday going on, can you honestly say you don't expect your kids to be sent

home again for a few weeks?
