In 2016, I had an existential crisis.

I remember wondering, what am I excited about?

And feeling like the answer was nothing.

I had a good job, a good family life.

I was in good health, but I didn't feel like I was looking forward to anything.

I felt depleted emotionally.

Clearly, something needed to change. And guess what I discovered? A week-long residential program whose tagline was, when you're serious about change.

I kid you not. It's called the Hoffman Institute. And I went. Essentially, this place takes type A people

in situations like mine through a process that helps you reset and understand what has led you to feel

depleted, unenthusiastic, like whatever, to everything. I mean, I went to some deep, dark places with the understanding

that going there would help me get unstuck. It was really life-changing, and one of the most

important lessons I took away from this experience was having boundaries. understanding how different aspects of my work

environment and my personal life overlapped in an unhealthy way. So what are some of the ways that

this type of overlap can lead us to a state of crisis.
