Welcome back to Young Herritics, Words, Words, The Word Edition.

I will have you heard the word is not bird the word was with God in the beginning

today is good Friday it's the triduum which is the three day culmination of Lent and really

the lead into the high point of the liturgical calendar with Easter and the

celebration of the resurrection,

which is weirdly fortuitous,

maybe even providential for us,

because we have been going together on this journey

to do with the word of God and the name of God specifically.

This is the third episode I think I've done about names and what names mean and why the Bible in particular is kind of obsessed with names.

Names be like, why you so obsessed with me?

Because as the question that was asked at the beginning,

pointed out there's a bunch of stuff

in the stories of King David about building

a house to God's name, and there's some ambiguity there about whether that's the temple or whether

the temple actually isn't it and Jesus is it or what and there's at a deeper level

a real obsession not just with God's name but with the name of Jesus.

Of course, thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain, but also whatsoever things ye ask of me in my name, I will do, you shall have.

And this is the sort of thing that seems very perplexing

if you think that a name is just a series of sounds

that you apply to a person, which when I was a little kid

that is sort of what I used to think I'm very very bad with remembering people's
