Steve Bierman, MD is the Director of the Noetic Medicine Institute at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine (University of Arizona, College of Medicine). He is also the author of two award-winning books on Noetic Medicine: HEALING (2020) and The END of WORRY (2023). Dr. Bierman is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Medicine and was board certified in and practiced Emergency and Family Medicine. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Medical Hypnosis. As a caregiver, we should all recognize that whether we want it or not, when our patients feel

helpless and dependent, and when they feel least uncertain about trusting us with their care,
