I've noticed something about myself.

When people say certain words, say certain expressions,

there are these common sentences that you just hear people repeat a lot, my body sometimes recoils.

It's like I understand the magnitude and power of our words, as the old saying goes, right, as you think, as you speak, so shall you be.

When I hear these words and expressions coming out of different people's mouths, even in text messages, on social media, wherever it may be.

I really don't like it.

I almost have this like in a zing where I'm like, oh if that person were my friend or in my life, I'd say,

hey, stop saying that. And I have done this. I've done it with my sisters. I do it with my friends. I've done it with my

coworkers. I absolutely do it with my clients and customers whenever I hear them saying these sentences and

statements that are utterly disempowering and I want to share with you some of those today.

I would like to see if you are perhaps using these expressions

without even realizing it and making yourself feel dis-powered, not consciously, but nonetheless we hear the words that

we say, right? We hear and pay attention to the words that flow forth from us. So when we're conscious of our language and the power of our words, we find that typically these sentences, expressions, common statements, they fall away because words are powerful, right?

Words have energy, words have meaning.

And I want to be intentional with my language because I'm intentional about my life. Now let me share

with you what some of these are, maybe what I use instead and this could give you some food for thought

today about how you can be using words with more intention to set yourself up to

feel like a more powerful in control, oh my gosh, even a confident person who the world reacts and

responds to differently.
