Hello and welcome to Women with Balls, where I, Katie Balls, speak to today's trailblazers.

My guest today is a scientist of more than 20 years.

Since completing her PhD in metallurgy and materials at University of Leeds and then Cambridge,

she has shot up the UK Science Pyramid.

She first joined the Science Museum as a researcher and exhibition developer before

leaving Sav Kandlington to join the Natural Environment Research Council. It is, however, at the UK

Space Agency where she's embarked on the latest of her missions, forgive the pun. Her current

role is international director. She is a former vice chair of the European Space Agency

and is on the board of directors for the US Space Foundation.

We're in discussing space, she has said previously.

Space discovery conjures up images of missions to Mars,

but it's all about their everyday impact to our lives.

My guest today is Alice Bunn.
