The past year has served as a reminder of how quickly one's personal circumstances can change.

The pandemic has seen millions put on furlough, others out to work and successful businesses turned on their heads.

In uncertain times such as Lee's, financial resilience is more important than ever. Financial resilience is defined by the

ONS as the ability to cope financially when faced with a sudden fall in income or unavoidable

rise in expenditure. But while savings for some Brits have surged during the pandemic, and the

Bank of England regularly tells us about this, is not being the case for everyone. COVID has been

attributed for rising levels of financial anxiety. 4.2 million more people now say they frequently

run out of money before the end of the week or month. Meanwhile meanwhile 41% of UK households could not last three

months without their main source of income. Women and younger people are among the groups who tend

to be the worst affected. So how should we get match fit? And if you are in a bad place,

what are the best steps? Is it time to start having some on the surface embarrassing

conversations about our personal finances?

To discuss this, I am joined by Tracy Crouch, Conservative MP and former Minister for Sports, Civil Society and Loenliness, who has also been a leading campaigner on gambling reform.

Bridget Philipson, shadowed chief secretary to the Treasury, and Nicola Bannister, Lloyd's

Banking Group's customer financial assistant effectiveness director in retail. He also leads a

specialist team supporting customers who are experiencing financial difficulty.
