Hello and welcome to Women with Balls, where I Katie Balls speak to the day's trailblazers.

My guest today was born in Guyana to her political family, but was sent to England for her education.

Fleeing dictatorship in Guyana, she couldn't receive financial support from her family,

and so began finding work in hotels and handing out flyers.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, my guests set up her first company in 1987 before moving to the world of finance.

Throughout her life, she has challenged authority and power across various sectors, but the one she is best known for is Brexit.

She set up the first legal challenge to the government's attempts to trigger Article 50 in 2016,

thereby changing the course of history.

Since then, she has set up her own party and is running for a seat in Parliament in the next election.

My guest today is Gina Miller.

So Gina, thank you for coming on Women with Balls today.

To begin, we always begin with the same question, which is, would you describe yours as a happy childhood?

It was happy, noisy, colourful, full of energy.

My father was a politician from day one and a lawyer.

And my mother was, I think, an eco warrior before the term was even invented.

So she was a botanist and so I grew up in Giana.

So it was a lot of colour, a lot of noise, a lot of, I mean, I had three dogs, two parents and a monkey as a pet.
