Welcome to the Rugby Union Weekly podcast at a very soggy Bristol.

We are at Ashton Gates still, but the World Cup quarterfinals, they are in the bag.

We're going to be heading over to Exeter to be speaking with Hugo a little later in the pod about

everything after France broke Irish hearts. We're also going to be reflecting, of course,

on a story that is still developing as we record this podcast, that alleged bite that has

happened in that fixture. But let's cover a few things off here at Ashton Gate first. Alongside me,

I have got former Scotland captain Lisa Martin, also 2014 World Cup winner Cat Merchant. How are you both?

Yeah, recovering, I think. Just about trying it all for that one. Perhaps on a slightly lighter note then, Lisa, did you enjoy Ruby Tooie's DJing at the end of the match? Oh my God, it was great. Absolutely great. I mean, can that woman do nothing? Like, can she not just do everything? Like, it's annoying, painfully annoying that she's just so good at everything. She really did. And considering the conditions here, the crowd have been off the scale and particularly at phases in that

match between England and Scotland, it would have been a tough watch with those scrums going down,

Kat. The scrums going down, lineouts for Scotland just repeatedly not getting them right. But the crowd, to be fair to them, even though they were getting rained on, they were dancing every time music came on. I think they really got behind these two sides. There was a really good vibe in the stadium. Yeah, sell out here at Ashton Gate, and we're expecting similar things next week when we move into those semi-finals. But let's break down this fixture then. First of all, the opening 10 minutes, a really bright start from Scotland, Lisa. They got their penalty, sensible decision. They looked calm. They look composed. Yeah, 100% they did. And I think it's a start that they would have wanted to have against England. Obviously, there's a lot of pressure on them in terms of, you know, they haven't really performed well

against England over the past few years.
