this week's guest Alia Elibermani. Alia is a figure painter originally from Massachusetts now living in North Carolina.

In this episode she talks about her current project, Special Snowflake, which is a self-portrait

in which she continues her exploration with paper objects within her painting.

At the same time, she has been painting a series of paper snowflakes in which she plays with the ideas of temporality and fragility.

Alia studied with the Laguna College of Art and Design in California,

and while studying there she worked at a nearby gallery.

While she was working there, she learned how to communicate with a gallery, what to look out for, and eventually

she curated her first show.

Since then, Alia has curated several exhibitions, most recently an exhibition of 80 artists called

Sight Unseen with the Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado.

It was after a conversation about an exhibition titled Women in Art, which featured exactly

Zero female artist.

Ollia collaborated with Sadie Valerri and Diane Faisal to create their own show Women Painting Women.
