Hello my brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ. Welcome back to the morning mindset.

In case you're new to the morning mindset, I want to welcome you. My name is Carrie Green

and we are just endeavoring this morning to get our minds wrapped around

the truth of God so that we can get aligned with it.

We want to walk through this day with our lives in sync with the truth of God's word. And we do that by getting

the scriptures inside of us, getting them into our heads, into our hearts, and applying them.

And we've been doing so by looking at the book of First Peter.

And Peter is one of my favorite writers in the New Testament because of how practical he is.

And he has gotten to the core of the Christian role

in this world in the last two chapters,

chapters two and chapter three,

by talking about the role of submission and he draws

his example from that of Jesus Christ. He says Jesus who had every right in the world, even as a human being, because he was God in the

flesh, submitted himself to the good of other people. You look at the gospel accounts and he does that all throughout

many times when he's tired, he's been with people all day, all those things. People just

press in upon him and he just continues to minister to them.

And he carries that attitude of submission all the way to the end of his life by dying on

the cross. In fact, that's how his life ended was in an

active submission. And Peter's point throughout chapters two and three is that we

are to exemplify Jesus in this world.

The choices we make are to be about the service of others

and submission to their needs over our own.
