I'm fascinated by the way in which women's football has had its reputation image, whatever you want to call it, completely transformed without us really noticing or without anybody sort of hitting us over their head telling us that we have to change or move with the times.

Lions is a fantastic exclusive in the Daily Mirror about a so-called trophy hunter who happens to be British, they're normally sort of morally desicated

Americans. But again, it's the why not the what that intrigues me most. Why do we almost all

agree that trophy hunting or killing these magnificent beasts is an unalloyed evil when we're

quite happy to kill other kinds of beasts for all sorts of reasons. And I have a pet

hate of posh people who, especially sort of politicians who vote through policies all the time

that diminish the existence of humans, but pat themselves on the back for looking after giraffes.

Might just be me. We'll find out a little bit later in the program. Do you remember all the fuss about Idris Elba being James Bond? Whoa, you think that's controversial? Wait until you find out what they're suggesting should happen to Lovejoy. I'll be sharing that with you later in the program, although I may have just alienated half of the younger listeners to this program who don't have a clue who Lovejoy is. And I will be weighing

into the BBC conversation, but if you're a regular listener to this program, you'll know that

we generally prefer counting to baseless provocation. And unfortunately, in the context of how much

the BBC chooses to pay some of its most prominent presenters, if you actually do some counting,

it wouldn't touch the sides of the bill that they've been left with by the government

that they're seeking to at least partly plug by no longer giving free TV licenses to the over 75s.

But I know, I know in Brexit Britain counting doesn't matter.

It's the invitation to be furious and jealous and all of those other things that is routinely

accepted well ahead of the basic rules of arithmetic.

And speaking of arithmetic, there is a very neat explanation as to why Boris Johnson has

come out today suggesting that he will

repeal so-called syntaxes.
