Three minutes after ten is the time. A very good morning indeed to you. The sun is out.

Weather is rosy. Brexit is on the horizon and the Conservative leadership candidates are about to

expose themselves to Ian Dale. He is, of course, hosting the hustings that will unfold shortly

after lunch this afternoon. And that's where we will begin this morning's contemplations. We will

move on to, well, a Labour proposal that I think might be quite a good idea. Restrictions on the owners of buy-to-let properties to try to rein in house prices. I need a little bit of expertise on this one. I have to tell you that when the phrase, I'm so sorry, I can't remember where I was, but it was somewhere that involved a large audience. And the Labour politicians, it must have been Sadiq Khan last week at the O2 and he

mentioned rent control and the whole crowd cheer I think I'd better check that actually

before I say it live on national radio and we will also be turning our attention to that

fascinating polling that we've undertaken on the issue of assisted car. But we begin in Northern Ireland.

The first time that we talked about it, it was quite an odd experience, wasn't it?

It was, I mean, revelatory in many ways, but also slightly embarrassing to realize how little we knew about how issues in Northern Ireland were impacting upon the population.

I don't just mean Brexit, actually.

I mean, the way that we looked at everything from abortion law right through to the referendum,

since the troubles, it felt to me as if Northern Ireland

had been almost squeezed out of national media coverage

now I know outside the London bubble

many people feel a little bit ignored

I think with justification actually

but few can feel quite as ignored

few British people can feel quite as ignored

as the people of Northern Ireland.

And the more we thought about it and the more we talked about it, the more, I don't know what
