Summary

Show Notes:   In this episode, Julie Busler chats with Krystal and Shelby about women and mental health. Julie has an incredible testimony of God’s faithfulness through bouts of depression, anxiety, and suicide attempts, all while being a missionary overseas. She wrote a book titled Joyful Sorrow: Breaking Through the Darkness of Mental Illness. In her book, and in today’s episode, she details the struggles of her past while also sharing her hope in Christ that has brought her to where she is today.   The opinions of guests on the Daily Grace podcast do not represent the opinions of The Daily Grace Co., and we do not necessarily endorse the resources that they recommend or mention on the show. We believe it is valuable to hear from a variety of guests, even if we do not agree in all areas. As always, the statements made by hosts and guests on the show should be tested against God’s Word, the only authority on truth.   Sign up for the Daily Grace Podcast Newsletter and receive the free resource "Scripture for Every Season.”   Time Stamps:     3:15 - About Julie 13:39 - Julie's mental health journey 19:35 - How joy and sorrow can coexist 25:00 - Common graces for mental illness 27:00 - Common misconceptions about mental illness in the church 30:53 - Hope in Christ for mental illness   Resources mentioned in this episode:  Joyful Sorrow Book   Connect with Julie: Website Instagram   Connect with us: Subscribe to Daily Grace: on iOS, go to our Apple podcast page and click subscribe.  On Android, click this podcast RSS feed link and choose your podcast app.  If needed, you can copy this link directly into your favorite podcast app (like Stitcher or Overcast).
