Summary
Whether or not we as a society believe this, our young people actually have goals, and visions, and dreams, and things they want to actively work towards.
Sometimes, teenagers find it difficult to connect with their parents because of the fear that they would be judged or not accepted as they came. They live under the impression that they would only be loved and accepted if they conformed to their parents’ idea of how they’re supposed to be, and that puts a lot of pressure on them.
In this episode, I talk to Wolf about the need of teenagers and young adults to take more action in their life toward their goals and how parents and grandparents can help them reach their purpose in life.
Wolf Castillo is a life coach for teens and young adults, and he’s the creator of the W.O.L.F method. Wolf guides young adults and helps them to make the next big leap in their lives as they transition to adulthood. He is a professional acrobat, a moving enthusiast, a multi-sport state-level college champion, and an active participant in acro-yoga. Throughout his college years, Wolf completed 300 hours of Volunteer Service in addition to working full time, and probably the most amazing thing is he graduated debt-free.
So, listen to Episode 17 of Rejuvenaging, to learn that knowledge without practical application is just an idea.
Questions I ask:
- What are you up to these days, in particular? (02:40)
- How did you specifically look at the idea of working with an age group that really needs that kind of work, and probably doesn't have enough real positive coaching? (04:04)
- When you work with young people, what do you actually do? Is it something where people come to you? Is it online? How do people benefit from you? (14:08)
- How did you get to be an acrobat? (19:45)
- If the rumor I heard is correct, I believe you will soon be having a podcast? (30:26)
In this episode, you will learn:
- Where resilience comes from, in Wolf’s opinion. (08:03)
- The power of context – how the actions we take are correlated with our beliefs. (08:53)
- The best time to say, “I’m not going to grow out of this, I need help.” (09:35)
- How to figure out what you really want to do with your life in terms of work or occupation. (11:25)
- Wolf’s advice for older people in terms of having a positive influence on children or grandchildren, without building any resentments. (23:38)
