Welcome back to the Word on Fire Show. I'm Brandon Vot, the host and the content director.

And I'm sitting here in the Big Expo Hall in Anaheim, California for the Los Angeles

Religious Education Congress and sitting right next to me is the great Bishop Robert

Barron. Bishop Barron, welcome. Hey Brandon, always great to be with you. And now we're

actually side by side. Normally when you and I talk we're about a 3,000 miles away from

each other. That's right. Right. You're Orlando. I'm in Santa Barbara. So it's nice to

be a millimeter away now. Yeah. Well listen, um, you and I just got here a couple

hours ago. Right. We flew all the way across the country this morning. We were in Washington,

DC. Tell us a little bit about why you were there and what was going on in Washington.

Yeah, I'm a little jet like I guess. I'm sure you are too. We woke up at what, 415 this

morning to get a ride to the airport at 5. I was in DC for the USCCB meeting. So I'm

the chairman now of the the Bishop's Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis. And as chairman,

I'm also part of the what they call the administrative committee and that meets for a couple days.

I'm also on the Religious Liberty Committee, which meets on on Monday of that week. So I

was there from Sunday night all the way through this morning. So it was it was interesting,

you know, lively looked behind the scenes, sort of at the USCCB. And it was it was a joy

to to cheer my own committee for the first time. So that's where I was the past week.

And then we flew across the continent today to be here for the Congress. One of the things

that you did there was lead off your first ever meeting as chairman of the Evangelization

and Catechesis Committee. And you begin with a talk where you reflected on some brand new

data. This data just came out a few months ago from Dr. Christian Smith from Notre Dame.

And it was all about the nuns, those who have no longer have any religious identification.
