Welcome back to the Word on Fire show where we've got a special episode here where

we're moving into the third week of Lent and so we decided that we'd like to

focus our attention on this pivotal liturgical season. I'm Brandon Vat, the

content director at Word on Fire and as always I am with Bishop Robert Barron,

Bishop Barron, welcome. Brandon it's always a joy to be with you. You know we

before we get into Lent we were just talking at the beginning of this

episode you just had your weekly Spanish lesson. You've taken lessons there. How's

that going? Well it's going well. I've got a great teacher and we actually meet

twice a week because I'm really devoted to getting in town but we have hard

session today. You know sometimes you think you're doing okay and you're making

progress and I'm okay with Spanish. I can read it pretty well. When she speaks

to me I get most of it but we are trying to go over like what I did this

past weekend and when you get into the narrative form and if you use all kinds of

the different modalities of the verb to be and the verb to be is so I think

complicated in Spanish with sad and a star Spanish students know what I'm

talking about. Anyway I got a story with Bucco Frostorado boy I'm a little

frustrated today with my lack of mastery of Spanish. I'm trying to get the

point where I can really speak spontaneously to people and I'm not there yet and

it really frustrates me but have you been preaching in Spanish out there?

Yeah I've given seven or eight sermons but you know it's laborious. I have to

write the sermon in English and then with my teacher's help we kind of craft

and work on a translation and actually if I have a text in front of me and it's
