Summary

Religion is as dangerous as irreligion because both neglect the proper treatment of God’s Word and thus neglect the relationship offered by Jesus to us. The whole Bible points to a relationship with Jesus, not religious activity. RELIGION IS ROOTED IN MAN’S ATTEMPTED EFFORT TO REACH GOD. Relationship is rooted in God’s accomplished effort to redeem man.

Like I've lost all my children's weight, right? And I have, I've literally lost the weight of my

called again and we're studying the book of judges. And the book of judges is one of my favorite

1:16.6

books in the whole Bible because it's just this beautiful kind of combination of like

1:20.8

brutality and then the relentless love of God. So it's like a, I think it's like a man's man's

1:26.7

book, right? And so I love it.

1:28.4

We've been digging into it. If you remember, if you were here in week one, Pastor Joby

taught us about this cycle of the Israel goes through throughout the book of judges where they're

1:38.1

surrendering to God, they're worshiping, and they begin to kind of rely on themselves, and then they move over to some type of idolatry,

God, would you save us? And really, this is actually a more descriptive picture of the book of judges.
