Well, good morning, church.

If you've got your Bibles, go Acts chapter 13.

Acts chapter 13, we were in part three of this series called Faith, Hope and Love.

And it is good to be here this morning.

I was out of town last weekend, last week, on vacation.

Gretchen and I went with Ben and Carrie Williams to Napa.

And it was awesome to be there and just to not be in charge of anything for a week.

Obviously, that's my first time in Napa.

I called my daddy.

He said, I'm going to Napa.

He said, what's wrong with your truck?

So that's just kind of how we grew up.

So, but we did take a lot of communion, so we were very close with the Lord right now. But the best part about us, the best part was just that kind of marriage

stuff that happens while you're there. But the other great thing that happened is Pastor Ryan Stone was

here to deliver the word of God. Amen. Did he not bring it? It was awesome. So Pastor Ryan,

he walked us through the end of Acts chapter 12 where God takes Herod out.

And he was talking about hope, really misplaced hope, like putting hope in yourself instead of hope in the Lord.

And that's called pride.

And one of the things that he said that I was just so blessed to hear as I was listening online

was that pride causes us to hear what we want to hear instead of what we need to hear.

That pride causes us to, when people are trying to speak life into us, that stings a little,

to walk away from that and surround ourselves with the people that will call us gods
