His name was Elvis Presley, and he used to just have this little Taking Care of Business necklace,

and we thought that was cool.

In some of the last three weeks, or this is the third week of this series, Taking Care Business.

Week one, we talked about taking care of people around the world and right here at home,

and that was our Compassion Week.

Most churches do a Compassion Sunday.

We now do a Compassion Week where we really just tried to expose our church

to the needs around the world and the needs right here in our own congregation. So we launched

our Needs Board back here in the corner. So at any time before or after services, what we do

is we've got people in our own church family that have some needs. And so they just write them down

and put their name and information on that board back here. And then we encourage everybody else to go by and check the

needs board to see if there are some needs in our church family that we can meet. I think it was

Jim Elliott that said that the light that shuns farthest shuns brightest at home. So for us,

it's not either or. It's yes, we want to meet the needs around the world, and yes, we want to meet needs

right here at our very own church and our own city.

That's what this thing that you're sitting on is all about.

If you want to get plugged into a ministry to serve during Christmas time, just pick one and go for it.

proud Papa because this isn't like a competition except we won. So that's the only thing about that.
