This is Lisa and I am so excited about bringing the special podcast to you. I had some guests with me. I had Hannah Q.

0:07.6

Sack-Coward. I had Juliana Bavir and I had Casey Sacks and we were talking about some topics that I know you're gonna enjoy. So enjoy this. It's a special treat and we'll be back with you later.

0:20.6

Okay, so we're gonna be talking today about a topic that is actually close to all of our hearts because we are for women.

0:27.6

We're gonna be talking about gender without rival. And it's not because we want to incite gender wars, but this is a huge issue.

0:39.6

And I was like each person. I kind of talked about how this is played out in their life, how they've seen this as a struggle. I'm gonna open up with my story.

0:47.6

Then I didn't put it in a book, but I think maybe I put it in another book. Anyway, it doesn't matter. So my husband, youth pastor, me, young mom, 31 years of age. And he actually might have been 29 and he said something like, hey, I'm going to Haiti.

1:03.6

And I really feel like the Holy Spirit told me you're supposed to cover my service. And I was pregnant with Austin. So it was 89. I was 29.

1:12.6

Okay, I knew you guys were concerned about that anyway. And so I said, I don't feel like the Holy Spirit said that to you. I feel like Holy Spirit said Pastor Carlos should come in and cover the service. And he said, no, Lisa, I want you to, I'm not gonna tell anybody you're coming because I know how they're reactive.

1:27.6

A woman speaks. So I'm just surprised. I'm gonna do a video announcement about how much I love you and I'll tell all on or you. And so my husband does this little video announcement. And I'm sitting in the back. And he says my, one, my favorite preachers is going to be speaking to you tonight.

1:41.6

He built it all up for weeks ahead of his surprise guests. And they said, Lisa, of year, and all I heard at that point was metal chairs being scraped across the floor, thrown into the stack, people folding up the chairs, saying, we are not going to sit here while a woman teaches.

2:00.6

This is unscriptural. And these are people we had porn into, as Collagen Care Pastures for at least two years. And then I sat in the back just watching everybody exit. And then I went up to the front. And I just looked at everybody said, you know, I wish I could actually be one of those people exiting out the back door. And I said, but here's the truth.

2:20.6

I'm a submission to my husband. And I do believe that women need to have a voice in the house of God. And I was exercising authority over anybody. I don't even know if I was teaching. I was more just sharing. And that night actually someone came to our house with my husband was out of town. I'm pregnant with my second baby. I've got Addison upstairs and banged on our bedroom window to terrify me. And this is, this is what it used to be. And so it's gone so much better. But it is still an issue. And Hannah, what have you, what have you seen with this?

2:50.6

This is a whole gender issue. I mean, you're in a ministry that we subrate women. But what has been your experience?

2:55.6

Well, I absolutely, absolutely without a doubt know that you and women like you have paid a dear, dear price for us to be able to come up into a different environment. Not that it's not still present because it very much still is.

3:13.6

But even with Julianna and I being raised by a mother who was strong, who she had to accomplish things and she didn't have the luxury of waiting for someone to give her permission to step out and order for the sake of her children and for the sake of raising us up in the way where we knew it wasn't in our own strength.

3:36.6

It was by the grace of God. That was some, that was a verse. She always said over us that this is a gift. You know, this is this we are saved by grace. It is a gift from God that no one should boast.

3:48.6

And that is how she lived out being a mom single for a lot of the years. Not because she wanted to.

3:56.6

No, not if she was a bandend. No, not at all. But she, she didn't live it out of this like angst or hatred.

4:03.6

She lived it from this place of strength that came from the Lord and we knew that as her daughters. And so being raised in that it was like, I mean, I just remember so tangibly going to the to the word and knowing that that's what it was, it was saying to me that it was like you have been given all of these things now live fully.

4:26.6

Walk into these things. Don't allow things to hold you back even though people just human nature will try to place those confines on on one another.

4:37.6

And I just am so thankful for those examples that said you're going to see some things. It's going to be discouraging. It's going to be disheartening.

4:44.6

Especially as we want to live out this life that we're called to, you know, we're all called to preach the gospel. We're all called to make disciples.
