Welcome to the Laker Film Room podcast, brought to by the Blue Rard Podcast Network.

I'm Pete, joined by Darius and Mike.

And yesterday, we discussed the start of trade season.

And Darius made a comment about how, in this period of time between now and when the trade deadline on February 9th starts to creep up, a lot of teams are going to know a lot more about who they are. And I think the Lakers are one of those teams, right? If you look at the next couple of games, right, we've got some tough ones. We got tonight against Denver, who's playing well. They've won seven out of their last 10, three in a row. And then we've got a Phoenix in a couple

games after a Washington game on Sunday on the road. That'll be a tough one. The Kings are playing

well. But if you look about a month into the future, the vast majority of the teams that we're

playing are either 500 right around it or below.

And so I view this period of time, Mike, as a window of opportunity to climb the standings.

But the standings, as they are, have been full of surprises so far this season.

Mike, talk to us about what stands out to you.
