Summary

The NWSL Playoffs are finally here.

On this edition of Full Time, Tamerra Griffin and Meg Linehan analyze everything you need to know on all four of the opening weekend's quarterfinals. Former player turned broadcaster Lori Lindsey also joins the podcast to help out in the discussion. It's crunch time.

Who are the favorites to advance to the semifinals? In a season without much parity, do any of the lower seeds stand a chance? How did the 2024 season start for each team, and how did it end? What intangibles might cause one to think twice about certain playoff teams?

PLUS: Tamerra and Meg unveil their '2024 Playoff Bingo Card' as a fun way to manifest some special moments during the postseason, while also opening up about a heavy week in the U.S.

1:09.6

how you're doing meg as i typically do when we open the show. And on days like this, that question is big and heavy and layered and sometimes anxiety-inducing. And I think that women's sports generally, I believe, has always been inherently political. So it would be a disservice.

1:29.0

It would be irresponsible for us as members of the media,

1:31.8

as storytellers, as journalists, to ignore that fact.

1:35.9

And that's why we have to acknowledge it

1:38.5

because this is so much bigger than soccer.

1:42.2

And we'll probably end up affecting women's soccer, right?

1:45.8

Yeah, I mean, I think that's kind of amongst many other first thoughts as last night,

1:51.7

or as Tuesday night turned into Wednesday of just, I think we can't even know yet how this

1:57.8

is going to impact the NWSaller or women's sports in general, long-term

2:01.3

women's sports have been a conversation in this election and usually not in a good faith

2:06.0

sort of way. And so I think there is this sense of there will be impacts. We don't know what that

2:11.5

will look like, but obviously there are teams and markets that I think are already having those
