A new agreement reached in Montreal earlier this year

will reduce the carbon pollution from international plane flights.

The aviation industry and 191 countries are on board,

and airlines hailed the voluntary deal as historic.

The travel pact is separate from the Paris Climate Accord

in which nearly 200 countries agreed last year to go on a carbon diet of their choosing.

But Donald Trump's pledge to exit the Paris Agreement is raising questions about the aviation deal.
