that was my attempt at the NPC trend and I'm here we're gonna discuss this as we

always do when it is at the height of the cultural conversation about give or take a

month or two and Pete had this idea to talk about the NPC trend.

If you're not familiar, there is a social media app called TikTok

where a lot of young people and older people will get online and they'll share short videos

and sometimes they're very entertaining and what TikTok TikTok really is, is it is a haven for trends, spur of the moment trends that take off

and become cultural topics of the conversation for a second.

And then off they go into the ether.

And this one is particularly interesting.

I thought you're going to say it's a, it's a charm, it's a norm of the Chinese government. That's what I thought you're going to say.

Oh, it is. It does spy on you. And it was taking all of your information, apparently. Yeah. I do not do

TikToks. I do enjoy a TikTok here and there. The NPC trend is very strange.

An NPC stands for non-playable character.

So it's a reference from video games.

If you're not familiar with video games,

an NPC is a type of character who has a pre-written script

that when you talk to them, they can't really deviate much from it

because they are not real characters.
