Hey everybody, this is Rob Leifeld. This is Rob Observations. Thanks for joining me once again.

I love talking with you guys. Love living in the world of comic books and movies and film and all

pop culture. Today, I am going to take you on one of the craziest days of my life, a ride that was so spectacularly resonant.

I still, I can remember it like it was yesterday. It is a ride that I had heard about. I had read

about. I had heard stories from other people, but I had never actually had it happened to me.

It is an incredible fun day. We're going to peel you behind the scenes. Once again, it concerns

a property of mine that I had spoken of in earlier podcast with you guys called The Mark.

I get a lot of questions about this.

This got a lot of publicity, press, both kind of Hollywood mainstream press as well as

comic book press, going back as far as early 1993 when it was announced or late 1992.

And it was when I first sold it to Mr. Tom

Cruz and I again have gone through that in one of my podcasts and how we Tom purchased this

treatment from me based on a upcoming superhero comic book idea that I had we went down the road with Tom for many

years and where that brings us to is what you're going to experience we're going to I'm going to

walk you through Halloween day Halloween day not Halloween night very bright and early

Halloween day of 1997.

That is when this crazy ride will start and the particulars of that day is crazy.

And it's really about when you have a screenplay, a combo creator, and the biggest star in Hollywood, how that all,

and the biggest agency in Hollywood, shepherding you through one of these giant, what do you

call it, one of these giant, uh, big, big packaging deals. It was a package. Will Smith was the, you know,

ridiculously amazing, awesome, you know, superstar of the hour. And this was the beginning of his almost decade-long run of dominance.

And he had met with me because the rights of the mark were coming up for a third option renewal.
