This is Bill Landis, joined by Ari O'A Wasserman, after what I think, Ari I consider the most interesting midweek press conference that I have covered in what is now my eighth season on the Ohio State beat in which Ryan Day did not say much

but in not saying much I felt like said a lot and essentially after given multiple

opportunities to express confidence in his defensive coordinator did not and then not. And then at the end said he's still

our coordinator. And I found all of it very odd. And I'm not really sure how to

assume any of it. Yes, Kerry is, or Ryan, is Carrie Combs still your defensive coordinator? Yes,

but. Yes, but like, what is that? What is that?

Somebody commented on my story and said, well, in the Midwest, yes, but is just the thing

that people says, and it doesn't actually mean anything.

And my response was Ryan Day is from New Hampshire.

I've lived in Ohio for 10 years.

I never heard anybody say, yes, bud.

They say, oh, I know that.

I say, okay, bud. I say okay, bud.

Yeah, bud.

The way that Ryan Day answered the question today about Kerry Combs being Ohio State's defensive coordinator was how you used to answer when I say I love you.

Or how you used to answer when I say you're my best friend.

It's how people, that's how I still answer and people ask me if you and I are best friends.
