never fails to capture the public's imagination.

Last week his very originally named Wii robot event was no exception, with Tesla unveiling

its latest inventions, the driverless cyber cab, the Robovan, and last but not least, the

humanoid Optimus robot.

These AI-powered robots were touted to do everything from household chores to mixing your favorite

cocktails and even providing companionship. Yet upon closer inspection many of

these prototypes were being controlled remotely by human pilots or in some cases were just people in costumes,

so not robots at all really.

So while we may not be any closer to the sci-fi reality of films like I robot or Blade Runner, there are deeper

concerns about the rate in which this technology is progressing. What does a future where robots

live alongside us truly look like.
