as I hope you all heard, we kind of try to explore Trump, the public figure, who he was,

where he fitted into the kind of political spectrum, if he does at all. And we're going to do the same

with Kemi Badoadnock, the new Tory leader. Who is she as a

public figure? Where does she fit? And will she be any good at the demanding tasks of a leader

of the opposition and, in my view, almost impossible context in which she is navigating?

Tim, if I could begin with you at the end of last week, we had a brief conversation about it

on the assumption she was going to win.

And you were worried about it.

Well, we've now seen her inaction.

She did the Sunday programs, Laura Coonsberg, Primers' Questions.

What's your take now?

Well, Nick Timothy, now the Tory MP, said the most cutting thing and most accurate thing has ever been said about me as a political comment.

And he said the only Tory leader Tim Montgomery has ever liked is Ian Duncan Smith.

And Margaret Thatcher. And Margaret Thatcher.

And Margaret Thatcher, yeah.

But look, I think we managed to get through the last podcast without mentioning Margaret

Thatcher, didn't we?

That might have been a first.

I think that's probably a first.

Actually, I could have brought her in as well in the context of Trump not being a Thatcherite,

whatever else he is. So I'm going to fulfil that role anyway Trump not being a Thatcherite, whatever else he is.
