Tuesday addition to PFT Live, we spent a lot of the first segment talking about

CDLamps quest for a contract he has earned and fully deserves in Dallas.

The challenge becomes first speaking the right language,

because there's the BS crap that we all see

that the high-end receivers really aren't earning.

And then there's the real numbers the real structure the

reality of the contract and then you have to figure out a middle ground once you get on the

same page and I'd say getting on the same page the biggest challenge let's start

with the best receiver right now who is

do a new contract and that's Justin Jefferson of the Vikings. They tried to do it

last year before the regular season started. At one point I was fishing around about Jefferson after we had

him on the show at the Super Bowl and I was poking around with some folks I know and at some point

somebody said me do you know how much he was offered

last year what he turned down and Shefty threw out that 30 million dollar per

year number that doesn't come from Jefferson's camp. That comes from the team. And this is an effort

by the team to kind of very gently paint him as wanting too much. And the issue isn't the dollars, it's the structure. Hey, we offer him 30 million

per year. Right, but if you only guarantee the first year of it, I mean that's the problem with the Vikings.

They broke from that with T.J. Hawkins' to a certain extent. They did it for Kirk Cousins in the

past. They need to be willing to fully guarantee a significant

chunk of money to Justin Jefferson. You got to treat him like a

quarterback. If you're going to keep this guy

and you're going to build your team around him as you should and he's a guy you can trust to catch any
