The Florida Supreme Court made a series of decisions on abortion Monday,

and they both have very far-reaching consequences,

some for the citizens of Florida, and others for the political ramifications

not only of that state, but of the nation.

Here's the first one.

The final legal challenge before Ron DeSantis's six-week abortion ban could go into effect

is now clear the ban with exceptions for rape, incest, and health of the mother will take effect

within 30 days.

Second, the court cleared the way for a ballot initiative this November that would

enshrine in the state constitution the right to an abortion up to

fetal viability. That is a term that is often understood to be anywhere between
