The third day of the Chauvin trial made clear, I think, what the prosecution is going

to be arguing to the jury in their closing argument and what the defense is probably going

to be arguing to the jury and it's closing argument.

The defense case obviously isn't as clear because we don't know the critical, critical

issue is Chauvin going to testify on his own behalf.

That's the hardest question that a criminal defense lawyer ever faces.

I had a friend who used to charge $100,000 to try a criminal case and he would say 95,000

of that is for the decision whether to put the client on the witness stand, 5,000 is for

the rest of the case.

But the key is whether you put the defendant on the stand.

And I get letters from others saying it's all my lawyers fault.

You know, jurors can listen and watch videotapes and hear experts.
