0:13.9	looking forward to this podcast, just for the context. I literally have a group chat with some of my
0:17.7	closest friends and founders. And all we talk about is health data. And that
0:22.0	has been a more recent trend over the last year and a half. And I'm just so excited to not only
0:28.4	dive into the story of whoop, but just talk about the future of what you guys are building.
0:32.5	Because I've just been such a fan of it. And quite frankly, just all things, health data
0:36.7	and being an athlete growing up
0:38.7	excited to dive in so before we really get into it you started whoop in 2012 is that right
0:45.7	that's right 2012 a while ago the idea of continuous health monitoring was still i think
0:53.4	kind of a far out idea.
0:55.0	Yeah, that's where I wanted to start.
0:57.0	Like what was it like back then in 2012, which was just like a whole different lifetime ago
1:02.0	when it comes to the technology that we utilized today.
1:05.0	Like what was the health tech space back then when you were getting into it?
1:09.0	Well, I'll even go back maybe 2010 because that's when I started thinking about
1:14.7	whoop and doing research for who.
1:17.1	I would say that the state of the market at the time was a lot of antiquated technology
1:23.0	and then the very beginning of pedometers.
1:27.6	So antiquated technology, that included heart rate monitors, so chest straps, that were,
1:34.9	you know, pretty similar to how they had been invented in the 80s.
1:39.7	They hadn't evolved very much.
