Welcome back to the Adam Schaefter podcast.

We are fresh off the red eye from San Francisco and on to week two after an incredibly eventful week one.

And to help recap it today, we are going to be joined by my friend, my colleague, the great Jeff Darlington, who was in Miami.

Now, ordinarily, ESPN assignment editors like the great Seth Markman, send reporters to certain games.

And Jeff Darlington was sent to Miami, where he lives, to cover the dolphins and jaguars.

And I thought to myself, boy, in all my years covering the NFL, being on Sunday

countdown, and this is my 16th year, I can seldom remember them not having a certain game

staffed or covered that I would have sent a reporter to.

And on Saturday, I called Jeff Darlington, and I said, where are you this weekend?

And he said, Miami.

And I said, we don't have a reporter in Cincinnati where we're waiting for resolution on the Jamar Chase situation and Jeff Darlington's in Miami

for the dolphins and jaguars. I thought to myself, okay, that was a decision that in my mind

at that time, if I'm being honest, I was questioning. But then, lo and behold, fast forward to Sunday Sunday morning and I no longer was questioning that

we get word that the Dolphins standout wide receiver Tyree Kill has been detained, cited

and then released and allowed to go play in the Dolphins regular season opener.

His story from that morning went viral, rightfully so.

And in the days that followed, it became an even larger story when people got to see
