As Karen Moscow has been reporting, Yahoo has reached a settlement with the activist investor group,

Starboard Value, going to name four new independent directors to the board,

averts a proxy war, but I wondering you know what difference it makes at

this time given where Yahoo is Brian Wieser is a senior analyst for advertising and internet at Pivot Hole.

He joins us now Brian, they're going to sell off Yahoo.

So why make a deal now?

Yeah, well if you're the board you get to say it's a

advantage because I don't think anyone on the board wanted to be in a position

where they're up for consideration to another board seat somewhere

and they have on the resume that they led to a loss at a proxy battle.

That's not something that anyone wants. So I think that the board was

incentive to avoid the fight one way or another. Now the battle is the difficult
