Let's talk about how you came to this book because this is a very personal book for you. So where we start is in the 1970s with me with a high school boyfriend and me entering into the realm of his sort of shattered

family a year after his sister went missing for six months and then was found dead in a river.

And I had a three-year relationship with him and had a complete in Susian,

teenage lack of empathy and understanding for what his family was going through.

I sort of understood the facts, but the facts weren't that clear.

It seemed that she perhaps had died of a drug overdose.
