| 0:00.0 | Most people will stay broke forever and it's not because they don't want to make more money, |
| 0:03.4 | but it's because they're doing the same things over and over again that are causing them to be broke. |
| 0:08.8 | So in this video, I'm going to tell you what you need to stop doing and what you need to start doing so you can start building wealth. |
| 0:14.8 | Which is number one, stop spending money on stupid things. |
| 0:18.8 | The reason people don't have money isn't because of their income, |
| 0:21.5 | because I know lots of people making multiple six figures a year that are technically broke. |
| 0:25.6 | The reason is they spend more than they make. You spend more than you make. It doesn't matter |
| 0:30.2 | how much you make. You are going to go broke. This is why athletes go broke, why rappers go broke, |
| 0:34.9 | why all these people who've made all this money go broke. They cannot |
| 0:38.3 | control their spending. Now, if you're not making a lot of money, then clearly you have to be even |
| 0:42.8 | more frugal with how you spend. You shouldn't be taken on debt. You shouldn't be buying things that |
| 0:47.6 | rich people buy. You shouldn't be driving a nice car. You shouldn't be going out to eat. You shouldn't |
| 0:52.6 | be doing all this other stuff that you're |
| 0:54.5 | currently doing because you can't afford it. And the easiest way to start creating margin in your life, |
| 1:00.2 | aka start saving some money, is to stop spending money. So cut out all the crap, quit putting money |
| 1:06.1 | on credit cards, quit living above your means, and just cut it out. For me, I was making $1,200 a month playing |
| 1:11.7 | baseball, and then in the off season, I'd go do little side hustles, and I was probably making |
| 1:16.6 | $30,000 a year in total. And I was able to live under $3,000 a month and not accumulate debt. |
| 1:23.5 | So before you even think about trying to make more money and build wealth and all the stuff, if you don't get your spending under control, it won't matter because you'll make more money and then you'll just spend more money as you make it. So fix your spending habits and live below your means. Step two. And that is learn a high value skill. How much money you make every single month is solely dictated on the skills that you have. You know, I was just talking to one of my employees and I said, look, the reality is your position is only worth so much. I would love to pay you more money, but at the end of the day, the going rate for your skill set is this. Now, I'm not going to lowball people. I'm not going to pay them less than their worth. In fact, I pay a lot of people maybe more than the industry average. There's a going rate for every single position in the world. Whether you're a cashier, whether you're an accountant, you're a video editor. It does not matter. The going rate is what it is. So if you want to make more money, don't complain about what your boss is paying you. Develop more high value skills. Over the years, I've had to develop new skills. You know, I first learned how to do sales, which is a very high paying skill. If you get really good at sales, you can make six figures or multiple six figures working for somebody else. I then learned how to buy real estate and flip houses and do wholesaling and guess what that skill set has made me |
| 2:34.4 | millions of dollars learning how to find deals then i learned how to do social media and marketing |
| 2:39.7 | and guess what it's a really valuable skill set to be able to make youtube videos to be able to make |
| 2:43.9 | ads build funnels and all of these things they've made my businesses tens of millions of dollars |
