Hi guys, and welcome back to the show. You're listening to style your mind. I am your host,

0:05.2

Carol Allwell. Thank you for joining me today. So if you tuned into the podcast a couple of days

0:11.7

ago, you may have heard an episode that I recorded with my good friend and fellow best-selling

0:16.4

author Amanda Frances. We talked all about our journeys with self-publishing, what those

0:22.8

journeys looked like, how different they were. We talked about what it was like to write our first

0:27.5

books, and I got a huge response to that podcast. And we actually are doing a course called

0:33.4

self-published. It's a digital course. First time we're offering this course, so excited about it.

0:39.3

And enrollment at our special introductory price is ending today. So if you're interested,

0:44.1

I'm linking it for you in the show notes, or you can go to Amanda Frances.com slash self-published.

1:07.2

1:12.8

1:17.4

it. And we still did it and had massive success. So the idea for my first book came to me over 13

1:23.2

years ago. It was when I started writing my blog, The Champagne Diet. I wanted to write a funny

1:29.2

but poignant part self-help part diary style book. I don't want to call it a memoir because,

1:34.6

I mean, I was like in my 20s and I didn't have much of a life to write about at that point,

1:38.6

but I wanted to share my stories. And I wanted to kind of paint a picture of what it was like

1:43.7

to be a 20-something-year-old woman navigating her life in New York City. In fact, the first draft

1:49.1

of the book was actually called The Champagne Diaries. I don't know if you know that fact.

1:52.9

And while I was working on my manuscript, I also started doing a life coaching certification
