They say Christmas is a time of giving, but it sure doesn't feel like it.

If anything, it seems far more like a time of taking.

We've got junior doctors starting a two-week strike tomorrow,

which will cripple the NHS over Christmas and the new year, all because they are still insisting they want a 35% pay rise to make up for how little money they've made for the last decade. Propaganda at best

and impossible to attain. Even Labour said they wouldn't give it to them if they got in. Meanwhile,

we've got senior civil servants walking out of their jobs with six bigger payouts from taxpayer funds just for retiring from those well-paid

jobs, costing us hundreds of millions of pounds. And as if all that wasn't enough, guess who else

is getting a pay rise? That's right. It's our own very much elected representatives, our MPs,

who will soon be earning over £92,000 a year, each. Not bad for what some

see as a part-time job in London. Coming up tonight, we'll be finding out why the Scottish National

Party thinks it's a great idea to take more money off people with a new higher income tax ban for

people earning between 75 and 125,000. And I'll be asking why the size of the state seems to be growing rather than shrinking.
